Holy Spirit Chess Club
Chess Club held every Wednesday from 3 to 3:40 pm for students in grades 3 thru 9 with Mrs. Hickey.

 

 

 

Holy Spirit Girl Scouts

 National Geographic Geography Bee
Students in Holy Spirit School in grades 4 through 8 participate in the National Geographic Bee. Two students win each grade’s geography bee moving on to the final competition.

 

 

Junior Leadership Program
Holy Spirit school children participated in an elite nationwide week-long program in Washington DC and Boston to learn leadership skills with other children from across the United States.

 

 

Red Bulls Reaching Personal Goals (Goals for Goals Program)
Students participated in a goal setting program sponsored by the professional soccer team, the New York Red Bulls. Upon completion of the program, two of the team’s players visited the school, spoke about hard work and effort, and signed autographs for each student at the end of their presentation.

 

 

Students Record Song of Hope 
As part of the “9-12 School Project”, the students recorded a song that emphasizes 12 values: Honesty, Reverence, Hope, Thrift, Humility, Charity, Sincerity, Moderation, Hard Work, Courage, Personal Responsibility, and Gratitude. The 9-12 Project was created to revitalize the values and principals Americans felt after the 9-11 tragedy. The 9-12 School Project is a junior version of this program.
